The Venice School of Photography is an English speaking company specialising in photography workshops, tours and holidays in many of the world's most awe-inspiring locations such as Venice, Rome, Florence & Tuscany, Prague, Provence, Andalucia, Iceland, Namibia and more. Photography Workshops open to all levels of ability, film and digital users, every month with highly experienced professionals. All courses in English with small groups, great accomodation, fantastic food and great company. We can arrange extended itineraries if you wish to see more of the country after your workshop. We can also design itineraries if you want to bring someone along who is not a photographer.

We offer a variety of Photography Workshops in English.

Our teachers come from all over the world, and for a very good reason. Our vision to give people the very best tuition in the world's most inspiring locations is achieved by the achievements of our teachers. We only select teachers that either live in the course area, or have a very intimate knowledge of the area. This adds incredible value to the courses, and means we don't waste your time taking you to places that are of relatively little interest to the intrepid photographer. We hold a deep passion for the places we travel to, and we believe travel is a privilege this is best honoured with the greatest possible insight and an open mind. Under the guidance and companionship of our teachers we hold a deep commitment to ensuring you achieve your photographic objectives, and have a truly fantastic trip.

We believe that a person can be taught to see creatively and so we attribute great importance to 'seeing' and to the significance of ideas over technical know-how. Some of our offerings deal with more mechanical skills, others more investigative. What transcends all of our workshops, is our commitment to inspire you, bring you closer to your photographic goals and play a continuing role in your ongoing photographic journey.

We find the best photographic talent in the world to teach and we bring it together with our intimate knowledge of a location to offer you a learning experience you will find nowhere else. We always aim to bring our participants closer to the place they visit - preferring often to stop and savour a place over descending in a swarm for an instant. We encourage our participants to slow-down, open their eyes and see more of what is in front of them. In teaching, our critiques are always honest but constructive. We tell you what we believe, and why, and how to improve. We aim to inspire and encourage you.

We recognise that the world is full of spectacular locations to photograph and visit, and each year we aim to offer new and exciting destinations - but only when we know that we have a deep and intimate knowledge of the place. Light is critical to us, and our itineraries are always organised around it.
