Genki Japanese & Culture School (GenkiJACS) is a
Japanese language school in Fukuoka that offers students
the opportunity to study Japanese language and
culture in a relaxed and friendly learning
environment. We are here to make your
Japanese study enjoyable and worthwhile. We are located in Tenjin,
the heart of Fukuoka City, in Kyushu, Southern
Japan.
We offer:
- Only licensed teachers - All of GenkiJACS' teachers are fully qualified
and licensed by the Japanese Ministry of
Education to teach Japanese as a foreign
language.
- Low cost:
We are in the education field because we love
teaching and want to spread understanding of
Japanese culture. Our courses are priced as low
as we can make them.

Group discounts are offered for 2 or more people
coming to study together. Discounts are off all
school costs (excluding accommodation).
2 people: 20%, 3 people: 30%,
4 people: 40%.
To qualify for this discount, you must apply at
the same time for the same course, with the same
start date, and be at roughly the same Japanese
ability level.
- Practical topics:
All classroom work is based on increasing your
practical ability, and reinforced with practical
activities outside of the classroom wherever
possible. No pointless grammar drills!
- Small class size:
Classes are limited to a maximum of 5 students,
and usually have around 3, giving you plenty of
chance to practice with the teacher.
CoursesWe
offer courses in a range of areas, including
conversational Japanese, Business Japanese,
study for exams, Japanese through pop
culture,
and Japanese culture, all with an emphasis on
practical work, inside and outside of the
classroom. For students coming to
study abroad, we can arrange a homestay family,
and various activities for the duration of your
stay.
1. Conversational Japanese: For people who need
to be able to communicate in Japanese, this
course offers a heavy emphasis on real-life
skills.
2. Japanese and Culture:
Learn about
our culture while learning the language, and the
chance to participate in it with other Japanese
people. Study topics such as ceramics, tea
ceremony, calligraphy, and flower arrangement at
school, and then join real lessons run for
Japanese people with a specialist teacher, as
well as learning about Japanese customs,
history, and art.
3. Japanese Through Pop Culture: Study Japanese
through movies, TV shows and music, practice
with roleplays, and write your own manga. This course
is based on your interests and Japanese level,
and uses all the latest trends in
Japanese pop culture to teach you the Japanese
language as it is really spoken today.
