AEC Spanish Institute:
AEC (Adventure Education Center) is Costa Rica’s most diverse and unique Spanish language institute with three distinctive schools from which to choose. You can choose to study at more than one campus and see more of this diverse and beautiful country of Costa Rica.
Our ARENAL campus is located in the small city of La Fortuna, where miles of gently rolling farmland are dramatically altered by the sudden presence of a series of volcanic peaks, dominated by the spectacular and active Arenal Volcano. Once past La Fortuna the region becomes one of lush rain forest, lakes, and hot springs cumulating with the Jurassic Era-like sensation of the Monteverde Cloud Forest.
AEC's DOMINICAL campus is located in the beach town of Playa Dominical, which is on Costa Rica's Central Pacific coast. The setting of the campus is very tropical, with tall shady trees that keep the area cool. It is only a few minutes walk down to three internet cafes, four mini-supermarkets, 10 bar/restaurants, a bakery, and the beach!
AEC's TURRIALBA campus is located on the grounds of the world famous agricultural research center, CATIE. The grounds cover over 2000 acres and offer a wonderful learning environment. Located right next to the school are the botanical gardens through which students can walk around and enjoy the exotic flora of the tropics.
Location and Facilities:
AEC's Dominical campus is very tropical and shaded by lush, tall trees. Being just minutes from the beach makes this the perfect campus to catch some waves on your break!
At AEC's Arenal campus our students can enjoy a cup of Costa Rican coffee and gaze directly out at the imposing sight of one of the worlds picture book volcanoes from the windows of our student center.
AEC's Turrialba Campus: The school building itself is a light gray turn of the century, plantation style single story house with a green tin roof. The school has Internet access, a sitting room, kitchen, bathroom and three indoor classrooms. There are also three outdoor classrooms or ranchitos and a porch. In the back of the school the ranchitos are shaded by two very large and very old trees, which create a wonderful backdrop in which to have classes.
