program located in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico,
and built around your busy
medical schedule. 50 Category I CME Credits through the University
of New Mexico possible. Intercultural Communication for Health
practitioners. Clinical sites available: Emergency Department,
Clinic, Ambulance and rural mobile health units. Affiliated with
Latin American emergency medicine development program "The new
Doctors without Borders". Quality lodging arranged at various
prices.
The experience includes:
Option 1:
2 hours of personalized small group
instruction/day
5 hours of clinical time/day (hospital, clinic,
ambulance and/or rural mobile clinic)
Please Note: There are a limited number of
clinical "spaces" available (based on specialty
interest, baseline language ability, and
appropriateness).
Option 2:
Up to 6 hours of Spanish language and culture
lessons per day
Limited clinical time
For students who feel that they would benefit
from more formal Spanish instruction time, or do
not qualify for direct clinical time
Lessons beyond 2 hours a day cost an additional
$10.00 per contact hour.
Option 3: MedSpanish "Boot Camp"Courses
Customized small group
and one-to-one instruction in Medical Spanish with unique total
immersion medical experience appropriate for Medical and Nursing
Students, Resident Physicians, Physicians and practitioners in
practice.
