Español Interactivo Language School-San Cristóbal was founded in 1997 in Chiapas, Oaxaca, México. Our Spanish program is focused on conversation and interaction. All lessons are a combination of conversation, grammar, reading, writing, and day-to-day useful vocabulary. We believe that the main goal of learning a language is to be able to communicate verbally. To complement what students learn in the classroom we offer free outings such as visiting local markets and churches and free excursions to surrounding villages like Chamula and Zinacantán,
plus other interesting sites near our city. Our
school has received official accreditation from
FIDESCU, in association with the Pontifical
University of Salamanca, as an authorized center
for International Diploma of Spanish (D.I.E.)
examinations..

Located in the 400-year-old historic downtown area of Mazatlan -
one of Mexico's most popular beach destinations. Our program is
28 years old and has proven itself to be a success for
participants who need to attain a working knowledge of
conversational Spanish in a short period of time. Emphasis is on
achieving oral proficiency through speaking and listening
practice. In order to assure a high degree of personal attention
from the instructor, there is a maximum of six students in each
group. Homestays: The families in the homestay program have been
carefully screened by the school. Most of them have been with us
for a long time and have been highly recommended by former
participants. Participants can choose an intensive Spanish
program (total immersion) or fewer hours of Spanish classes per
day.

Monday to Friday Classes
- 8:30 am to 9:25 am: Pronunciation and/or Listening Comprehension
Workshop. 9:30 am to 1:30 pm: 1 hour 45 minutes of structure
practice in groups of no more than 6 participants and 1 hour 45
minutes of conversation and vocabulary practice, with a 30-minute
break in the middle. Also Private Classes. |

We prefer not to use a rigid grammatical teaching method. Instead, a more conversational and interactive approach is employed. Even though all essential areas of grammar are covered, students learn not by endless grammar tables and repetition, but by using them in context that clarifies their meaning and use. This method we feel enhances language development accelerates oral proficiency and is altogether more enjoyable for both student and teacher. |
