located in Buenavista de Cuéllar, a rural municipality in the
mountains of Guerrero, a community at the cross roads of humble

The Tlatoani Language School is a
student-focused center of learning for those
wishing to acquire effective communication
skills in Spanish as a Second Language. Our
mission is to provide an opportunity for the
student to learn and speak the Spanish language,
to live the Mexican experience, to view the
world from a different cultural perspective and
to understand the cross-cultural roadblocks that
can impede mutual comprehension.
Tlatoani (pronounced T-LAH-TOU-A-NEE) Is a word
in Náhuatl, the language of the Aztecs. It means
“the one who speaks well”. This was the title
given by the Aztecs to their Supreme Rulers,
their Great Speakers; individuals such as
Moctezuma and Cuauhtémoc. It was believed that
the Tlatoani could speak with the gods. Our name
reflects our commitment to provide a
professional, well-planned, fully integrated
language and cultural learning experience for
