 Alphabet Soup is a Private Christian Learning Center and Academy with two locations in Missouri to serve you (Hazelwood & Black Jack in St. Louis County). We offer early childhood education for children ranging from baby, infant, toddler, children, and kids for preschool, kindergarten, and school age child education (1st grade - 6th grade). In 1999, Alphabet Soup opened its preschool in Black Jack with just four students. Since then, we have grown to house 105 students. At the request of our parents, we have expanded to a Hazelwood location that can house over 200 students from the age of two years through the sixth grade. Our classrooms are air conditioned, video monitored, and safe for all ages. We educate our children wholly, focusing on loving, trusting, and respecting each child. We meet the needs of our children's physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth. We promote our children's curiosity, sense of wonder and desire to learn.
Alphabet Soup welcomes diversity and hopes to promote an atmosphere where all races, religions and backgrounds are celebrated. We believe that the home is the most important factor in a child's development. Parental Involvement is encouraged at Alphabet Soup Learning Center and Academy. We believe that our children benefit from parents and teachers working together. We have an open door policy and our parents are always welcome to stop by and visit their child's classroom whenever the opportunity arises.
Our class sizes are small to provide more one on one teacher/student interaction. Monthly newsletters and calendars go home informing the parents of school happenings and upcoming events and academic themes. Journals and portfolios are kept on children and available for parents to review. Report cards or progress reports are sent home quarterly.
Programs
Infant, Toddler, Two-Year-Olds, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, School Age - 1st grade-6th grade. Our full day curriculum incorporates individual, small group, large group and cooperative learning. 16:1 student/teacher ration, low tuition.
Seven learning centers are set up to allow children daily choices - Construction and Design; Math and Manipulatives; Science and Sensory; Reading and Relaxation; Writing; Art; Music and Movement. Additional features: Spanish, PE, Computer lab, Library
