PC TECH ESL School New York:
PC TECH is a language school in Manhattan, NYC, centrally located on 42nd Street and Madison Avenue (one block west of the Grand Central Station). We offer English courses to students from all over the world, which will allow you to meet people from all kinds of cultural backgrounds. All our courses are approved by New York Board of Education. Our English language courses enable individuals to learn English as a Second Language (ESL).
English Language Courses:
Full-time / part-time courses available for all levels including basic beginner, elementary, intermediate and advanced English.
Full-time Intensive English Language Courses:
The emphasis of our full-time intensive English programs is on speaking, grammar, listening, vocabulary, presentation and discussions. Our courses encompass pronunciation, vocabulary building and conversational activities using grammar contextually. Cultural activities are also included in your program. Intensive English courses start every Monday and the following options are available:
- Intensive 18
Full-time program: 18 hours per week. Morning & afternoon classes available.
The aim of this course is to allow you to communicate better by improving your speaking, listening, writing and reading skills. Though this course is not limited to conversation only, it also includes grammar, reading, writing and comprehension. Improve your reading skills using articles from newspapers and magazines and write the contents in a comprehensive manner.
This course is designed for students who want to improve their English conversation skills, but also want time to explore New York City. With morning and afternoon classes available Monday to Friday, this program provides students with plenty of free time before and after classes, both weekdays and weekends.
- Intensive 36
Full-time program: 36 hours per week
This full-time course is designed for students who want the maximum level of improvement and want to be able to talk like a native English speaker. It places special emphasis on each key language skill: reading, listening, and writing and more focus on fluent speaking. In return, you will achieve your goals quickly and your English abilities will soon rise to the next level. You have the entire day to yourself on weekends to freshen up and get a taste of New York City and be back to class the next week.
TOEFL Exam Preparation Courses:
4-week (72 hours) or 8-week (144 hours). Course start every Monday.
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) evaluates the ability of an individual to use and understand English in an academic setting. It sometimes is an admission requirement for non-native English speakers at many English-speaking colleges and universities.
The TOEFL Preparation Course will prepare you to take the internet based test (iBT). The iBT is different because students will have to demonstrate their ability to integrate the language skills by completing tasks similar to those that they will be expected to accomplish in academic settings. The course prepares you for this by first evaluating your strengths and weaknesses and you will master important academic skills.
The course will review reading, listening, speaking and writing skills. Throughout the course you will be constantly checking your progress by taking model test. Finally, the course will help you improve your English proficiency by reviewing important language problems and identifying and applying strategies that will help you to overcome these problems.
- Part-time English Course:3 days/ 10.5 hours per week. Morning and afternoon classes available.
Available year-round, you can start a part-time English course any Monday. This is the ideal solution if you want to improve your English but cannot dedicate the time to attending classes every day.
The curriculum focuses on four skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. We also teach pronunciation through vocabulary-building group discussions and conversation using grammar contextually. Improve your reading skills using newspaper articles and also write the contents in a comprehensive manner. You will be placed in a class at the appropriate level for you with an average ratio of students between 10 and a maximum of 20.
- Homestay Program with a Local American Family:
Immerse yourself in the English language and American culture, while living locally with an American family and attending your English language classes. Students will be placed with welcoming families in the New York area, in Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens or New Jersey.
- Summer English Language Courses:
18 hours per week
Summer English courses offer a wide variety of benefits for the ESL student. Summer courses tend to offer diversity and the advantage of meeting students from a variety of parts of the world.
These classes offer students the chance to learn to speak English properly, and give them the opportunity to speak with different students for a new learning experience , as well as the opportunity to make new friends. PC TECH also offers a variety of full-time and part-time classes for scheduling ease.
