Spanish School in Boquete – Language Immersion Program in Panama

Ya Language Center is located in the valley of
Boquete, famous for its coffee, wildlife and
natural beauty, in the western highlands of
Panama at 1,200 meters (3,600 ft.). Nestled
among the country’s most mountainous region,
this peaceful town is situated between the
Caldera River, which lies to the east, and the
Baru Volcano to its west. Boquete enjoys a
sunny, cool mountain, comfortable year round
climate considered nearly perfect, and this is
why Boquete is also known as the “Valley of the
Flowers and the Eternal Spring”. This highly
lush land is home to the Ngöbe Bugle indigenous
and is also considered the Ecotourism capital of
Panama. The untouched tropical cloud forests
surrounding Boquete are home to an immense
variety of flora and fauna.

classes in the mountains during the week, with

Courses: We have several programs and
courses. The first decision you have to make is
if you would like to have private Spanish
lessons (one on one) or group classes, or a
combination of both. The different courses we
offer are Spanish for Travelers, Beginner Crash
Course, Normal Enrollment (Intermediate &
Advanced Courses), A Tailored Solution
(Intensive Courses, or Spanish for a very
specific purpose, e.g.: business, tourism, legal
issues, etc.). Any of these courses can be taken
with each one of the following programs or both:
Latin Cultural & Spanish Immersion Program
and/or Ecotourism & Adventure Pack.
With our Immersion Program you get to live with
a carefully selected local middle class family
that lives within walking distance from the
school. This host family will not only
accommodate you with a private room and provide
you with breakfast and dinner, but they will
also take you as a true member of their family
and make you feel at home while you have the
opportunity to practice your Spanish and improve
your conversational skills 24 hours a day. For
those not interested in staying with a family,
our students receive discounts at local hotels
and hostels.
 Our classes are mostly in Spanish and they are
highly conversational, orientated to the
communicative development of our students and
include walks in town to practice through role
play what has just been taught in class. We work
on skill integration, with special emphasis on
listening comprehension and oral expression
abilities. Lesson planning is based on student’s
needs and their diverse learning styles.
