This comprehensive program prepares individuals to achieve competency in the skills and theoretical knowledge necessary to enter the pharmacy environment as a Pharmacy Technician - Retail. Typical duties of a Pharmacy Technician in Retail include preparing medication for dispensing; preparing aseptic products; compounding pharmaceuticals; inventory control; purchasing; merchandising; record keeping as required under such acts as the Food and Drug Act; narcotics control; third party billing; pre-packing pharmaceuticals; drug distribution; computer processing; and other clerical duties as necessary.
