Graduate Studies:
The Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management (FKRM) Graduate Program offers two innovative thesis-based degree programs that consistently provide students with just the right balance of theory, research and skills to get them into the professions they want. The degree programs are:
- Master of Science
- Master of Arts (Recreation Studies)
The graduate programs are closely linked to the Health, Leisure and Human Performance Research Institute, a faculty-based research institute within the FKRM. The Institute is where most of the research goes on in the many labs within the Faculty. This is where as a graduate student, you can work with our world-class scholars/researchers/advisors on a wide range of research projects (Thesis Research Opportunities) - projects that are funded from every level of government and published in hundreds of scholarly journals. As well, the HLHP Research Institute and Faculty are committed to providing employment opportunities for graduate students (employment on research projects, TA and Grader Marker positions, etc.)
Our Masters’ programs continue to attract students from all over the world. Students do course and thesis-based work under the guidance of FKRM faculty advisors. There are many exciting opportunities for our graduate students, such as travel awards, scholarships, conducting and attending public presentations and workshops, etc.
