Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu - National-Louis University w Nowym Sączu, (Nowy Sącz near Krakow in Southern Poland) offers an MBA program conducted in cooperation with National-Louis University, Chicago, USA. It is conducted on a part-time (2 years) and full-time (1 year) basis, and all courses are taught in English. Graduates receive an American MBA degree from National-Louis University, as well as a Certificate of Completion of the post-graduate program at WSB-NLU.
The part-time MBA program
consists of an integrated series of courses which provide the experienced practitioner with the financial/accounting/economic skills, as well as the practical people/leadership skills needed to succeed in today's increasingly complex organizational settings. These courses are designed to address practical problems, rather than theoretical concepts, so that students can apply their new knowledge and skills in their work settings immediately. The courses are sequenced to provide continuity and contain common themes and threads, including communication issues, law and ethics, as well as strategic thinking and leadership skills. This program is designed to serve adults who work in complex organizations, public as well as private, not-for-profit as well as for-profit, and to help them work more effectively with superiors, peers, and subordinates in identifying, clarifying, and attaining organizational goals and solving problems.
The full-time MBA program is designed to provide students with real-life managerial experience so that they will solve practical problems emerging from business activities. The whole program is divided into two parts: course work and an internship. The admitted students form a cohort and stay together for the first part of the program, which consists of 13 courses taught 10 months. After successfully completing all of the courses, students enter the next phase, which is a two-month internship in a selected company. During the first two weeks of the internship, each student must identify the topic of the individual final project. The project should address existing problems or issues in the company, and also should provide opportunities for the student to apply professional knowledge and an integrated approach to solving business problems. For the entire period of the internship, students have the opportunity to maintain regular communication with their advisor at the university. The program is completed with the students' oral presentation and defense of their written project reports.
