Russian is spoken as the first language by over 160 million people mostly in Russia and states having belonged to the Soviet Republic. Russian is one of the official languages of the United Nations and an important business and trading language in the countries of the former Soviet Republic. It is a Slavic language with Ukrainian and Belarusian its closest relations. Russian is an important cultural language and many literary masterpieces have been written in Russian. Russian uses the Cyrillic alphabet, which is based on the Greek alphabet with some Hebrew letters to represent sounds alien to the Greek writing system.

While there are many different ways to teach and learn Russian, we at our Language Institute believe that learning the Russian language requires the student to instantly be immersed in the target language. Our Russian language lessons, taught by our skilled native instructors, are designed to build conversational skills. Seattle Languages International offers different formats and levels of Russian group classes.
For students with very specific goals, our language school also offers private, customized Russian language instruction. Russian private lessons are a good way to learn Russian quickly.
Group Classes:
Select our group classes and learn how to speak a foreign language in a small group setting. Trained, predominantly native language instructors, with extensive classroom teaching experience will help you to immerse fully in the language of your choice. Group classes are ideal for students of all levels and proficiency who like to be in a small group environment and learn in a fast, fun and interactive way.
Private Instruction:
Seattle Languages International offers private lessons to individuals, families and small groups. This provides a one-on-one or small group learning environment at a scheduled time convenient for you. All courses and levels are offered for all ages. Private lessons are very goal-oriented. The student decides what the instructor will teach. Lessons are usually taught in two hour sessions. Exceptions must be discussed with the instructor.
