Advanced Diploma in Interior Design (24 months):
This programme can be taken as a full-time course and takes 24 months to complete. Design practitioners who have worked in the industry for a minimum of 24 months also have the option of taking this course part-time. Students taking the course part-time are not required to conduct industrial visits, student research and industrial attachments, which are compulsory components of the full-time course. The course also takes 24 months to complete when studied part-time.
The Advanced Diploma in Interior Design will guide you to apply relevant design knowledge in a way that will enable you to gain entry into the professional design industry. At the same time, it will equip you with experience in design integration and innovation, nurturing a creative mind essential for long-term progress and sustainability in the design industry.
You will gain the mastery and skills to solve small and large-scale design problems, gain a sound understanding of building regulations, specifications and construction techniques, and appreciate the design principles of form and space, colour and light, as well as materials and finishes. Graduates will be eligible for employment as an interior designer with a keen eye for aesthetic & functionality.
Diploma in Interior Design (18 months):
This programme can be taken as a full-time course and takes 18 months to complete. Design practitioners who have worked in the industry for a minimum of 18 months can also take this course on a part-time basis. Students taking the course part-time are not required to conduct industrial visits or student research which are compulsory components of the full-time course. The course also takes 18 months to complete when studied part-time.
In the Diploma in Interior Design course, you will gain the techniques and mastery to convey interior design ideas through visual and verbal means. Graduates will be able to produce creative and pragmatic solutions for every interior design project. It will guide you to apply relevant design knowledge in a way that will enable you to gain entry into the professional design industry. It will also provide you with experience in design integration and innovation. When you have successfully completed this course, you will be able to progress to the Advanced Diploma in Interior Design.
Certificate in Interior Design & Decorative Techniques (12 months):
This course
will help you to gain a fundamental knowledge and understanding of interior design. This will be especially helpful for students who wish to communicate their ideas to other interior designers accurately and efficiently. The course is suitable for individuals, couples or renovator contractors who are planning to design for personal enjoyment or to undertake renovation of existing residential / retail projects.
This programme will help students explore basic design development and processes. In addition, it introduces participants to scale reading, unit conversions, space planning, colour concepts, design styles, materials, lighting and finishes in each design application.
Short Professional Certificate Courses:
We offer a range of short professional courses in various design software programs including Photoshop and AutoCAD, to equip design professionals with the essential skills to enrich their visual presentation to their respective clients. Depending on the course, training may be delivered via individual tutorials or in-house training.
- 3D Max Certificate Course:
This course is an introduction to the 3D Studio Max software. It is suitable for beginners in 3D modelling and rendering. Students who complete the course will be able to create and render a 3D model of a simple interior project. This course is recommended for all designers who wish to gain the technical skills to complement their creative flair. The duration for an individual tutorial is 12 hours. In-house training of 7 lessons x 2 hours per lesson is also available.
- AutoCAD Certificate Course:
The course allows students to be equipped with one of the leading drawing softwares in the design industry. Students will acquire the skills to design, draw and manage in the computer environment. The duration for an individual tutorial is 12 hours.
- Sketch Up Certificate Course:
The course allows students to be equipped with basic knowledge to compose compelling graphics. Students will acquire the skills to design, draw, render, edit, use special effects and manage in the computer environment. The duration for an individual tutorial is 12 hours.
- Perspective Drawing Certificate Course:
The course will teach students on the technique to represent three dimensional images on a two dimensional picture plane. Perspective drawing is essential in creating an accurate and visually appealing piece of art.
- Photoshop Certificate Course:
The course allows students to be equipped with basic knowledge to compose compelling graphics. Students will acquire the skills to design, draw, render, edit, use special effects and manage in the computer environment. The duration for an individual tutorial is 12 hours. In-house training of 7 lessons x 2 hours per lesson is also available.
- Furniture Product Knowledge Certificate Course:
Students who successfully complete this workshop will gain an adequate knowledge on identifying furniture styles/ categories, characteristics and grading of materials used in furniture production, basic processes of furniture production and coordination of appropriate colour scheme. Students will complete 1 2-hour session for 9 weeks (18 hours in total). In-house training is also available.
- Developing Brief, Proposal & Quotation (BFQ) for Design Services Certificate Course:
This course equips participants with the skills to develop a brief, proposal and quotation (BPQ) for a design project in the Creative Industries. Students will complete 2 x sessions at 9 hours per session (Total of 18 hours).
