Al Andalus is a new Spanish language school in the town of Tarifa in Andalucia, in the south of Spain. The school is in the old part of town, just a stone's throw from the beach and within the city walls which were erected in the Tenth century by Arabs which then controlled Andalucia.Tarifa is a small and cozy fishing town on the southernmost tip of Europe near the Straits of Gibraltar between the Atlantic and Mediterranean Oceans.

Africa is the next stop over as there are only 14 kilometers between the continents. Fast ferries sail regularly betwen them; between Tarifa and Tangier in Marocco. There is a short distance to cities in Andalucia like Sevilla, Cadiz, Córdoba and Marbella.

Tarifa is probably best known as a wind-and kitesurf paradise which isn't strange as there are some of the best and most expansive beaches of Spain and enough wind to drive the sails of the surfboards. The climate is excellent, the summers are warm and comfortable and the winters mild. You can surf all the year in "La Mecca del surf".
