Marbella Design Academy is a state-recognized international Academy in Spain offering courses at university level. It was awarded this recognition by the Spanish Ministry of Education-Junta de Andalucia. The Academy was founded in 1995 and with 14 years of experience behind it, has developed into the modern, dynamic, top level Design Academy which you can see today. All classes are held in English. Our students come from all over the world and most can obtain grants from their home countries to study at our state recognised Academy-CODE 29o16884. We are located in our new stunning purpose built facility in Monda, only 15km from the jet set town of Marbella in the South of Spain. Every facility imaginable is catered for and the building has also been approved by The Ministry of Education. It complies with all that is demanded of a new and modern design Academy.

All classes are held in English, and in small groups. The courses start twice a year. You can enter in January and in September. Tuition is at a high academic level and you will all ready in the first year of study be introduced to the professional computer programs that are essential for students to know if they are to become top class designers.
Interior Design – 3 yrs and Interior Design with Furniture/Product Design – 3 yrs
This course has been prepared to provide the students with knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the design process from the brief given, research, sketches, theoretic tuition and lectures, presentation technique, technical drawings and the development of the ideas/projects to the finished presentation. To achieve this, the course content encourages the students to acquire a comprehensive means of expressing their ideas. Software programs taught: Auto-Cad, Photoshop, 3D Studio Max and Illustrator all ready from the 1st year of 
study. The 1st year is oriented toward giving the students professional development before continuing into the state recognised program in the 2nd year and to enable the students to experience and develop their own unique vision and to implement their concepts through diverse, creative processes. The students will be taught how to explore independently and examine the fundamental principles of communication, encouraging self-motivation and challenging aims and objectives of initiated work. Subjects covered in the 2nd and 3rd years include Projection and Perspective Drawing, Freehand Drawing, Spatial Expression, Project Management Skills, Technical and Furniture Construction.
The students chosing Interior Design with furniture and product Design Course follow the same program as the Interior Design Course, but will as well design 3 individual furniture or product design projects during the academic year.
Graphic Design – 3 yrs
This course covers subjects including Artistic Drawing, Projection Drawing, Technical Perspective Drawing, Color Theory, Rendering Technique, Visual Expression / Model Making, Photography, Materials among others. Software programs taught include Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver and Quark Express. Workshops and projects form an integral part of the course and study tours and work experience placements are also included.
Fashion Design – 2 yrs
Subjects covered in this course include: Freehand Drawing 
- Fashion, Fashion Design using the computer, Marketing, Models: Fashion Design, Styles, Production Technology, Sewing and Cutting among others. Study tours and work experience placements are also organized by the school. At the end of the academic year the Fashion Design students will choose a catwalk model to present their designs at at the school´s yearly "Students Exhibition" held in the middle of June. All other Design Students at the Marbella Design Academy will also present their work at this exhibition, which is a big yearly event. Following graduation, the student will have the title of Fashion Designer.

Web Design – 1 yr
Subjects covered in this course include History of the Graphic Imag
e, Technical Graphic Expression, Photography, Theory of the Public Image, Typography, Audio Visual Tuition, Web design projects among others. You will also complete a work experience placements and study tours also form part of the course. Software programs taught include: Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, CSS, Flash, XML and PHP.
Intensive Summer Courses
Next year Summer Course - offer courses - 5 Weeks intensive - 19th of July to 20th of August 2010, 5 days per week from 10.00 to 15.00 (50 min lunch break included) in the following subjects:
* Auto Cad - beginners
* 3D Max - beginners
* PhotoShop and Illustrator - beginners
* Photography - beginners
* English - beginners
* Spanish - beginners
When the students have completed the 5 weeks Summer Course they qualify for a Certificate.
Visa: Non European students can enter Spain on a normal tourist Visa, valid 3 months.
