Our school is located in the heart of Granada, Spain. Granada, in the south of Spain, has captivated poets, musicians, and travellers from all over the world with its unique mixture of Arabic and Christian architecture, its light and its contrasts. History has left many interesting marks on the city today. Now 290,000 people, 50,000 of whom are university students, inhabit Granada and add to the special atmosphere which surrounds its cultural life. We enjoy a terrific location, only 60 kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea yet at the very foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, where the ski season runs from November to the end of April. The climate has dramatic contrasts and very little rain, almost never from June to September. So people here enjoy a very active social lifestyle in the bars and in the streets. In short, Granada offers a lot to choose from!

An ancient gateway with a sign that reads "Carmen de las Cuevas, School of Spanish for foreigners; Flamenco School". It had been difficult to find at the top of a steep slope…
It is a maze of caves, staircases, terraces and rooms. In the caves, which are decorated with portraits of famous flamenco artists and traditional ceramic plates, there are flamenco classes for everyone:
The school owns an interesting DVD collection (around 200 titles) of Spanish cinema and another of flamenco DVDs, featuring performances of the most outstanding artists, a library (over 1,200 books), a computerised audio library (over 200 albums), free wifi zones, Internet access, and a public fax and telephone.
If your flight is to Madrid you can catch the metro in the airport to "Méndez Álvaro", where the coach station is Estación Sur de Autobuses and where there are frequent coaches to Granada; or to "Chamartín" or "Atocha", if you want to take the train to Granada.
If your flight is to Málaga you can catch the airport bus which will drop you near the coach station in Málaga, where there are coaches to Granada every hour between 07.00 and 21.00 (until 22.00 on Sundays).

To get to the school...
..if you take a taxi, as there are two streets in Granada with the name Cuesta de los Chinos and in order to avoid mistakes, you should ask the taxi driver to take you to the Placeta de Albaida which is very close to the school.
...if you come by bus, you can catch another bus at the stop next to the Cathedral or in Plaza Nueva. You will need to catch the number 31 (from Plaza Nueva also number 32) and you should get off at Placeta de Albaida. You get the stairs up to Placeta de Albaida and take the little steep street on the right side which is the Cuesta de los Chinos, at number 15 you’ll find our school.
