La Escuela Del Sol:
La Escuela Del Sol in Costa Rica is a Spanish language school that offers immersion programs for people who want to learn Spanish fast while having an adventure in a tropical paradise. We are located in Montezuma, a picturesque little town known for its tranquility, its beauty and its sense of adventure, on the eastern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica. We offer a 1 to 4 week, college level, Spanish language program as well as additional courses for adventure and self enhancement. Those courses currently include surfing, yoga and poi (fire dancing) and can be taken in combination with Spanish classes.

Spanish & Surfing Programs:

Our Spanish & Surfing Programs can be of 1 - 4 weeks in duration and include the following features:

•2 hours of classroom instruction, M-F
•2 hours of applied learning (in class or outside), M-F
•Books and instructional materials
•Surfboard rental
•Introduction to surfing on beach for beginners
•2 hours of surfing instruction at best local beach, M-F
•Guided waterfall hike
•Accommodation at La Escuela Del Sol
◦Optional zip line canopy tour or guided horseback riding to private waterfalls (weekends only)

Beginner & Intermediate Surfers:
After going over the introduction on land you will spend the next two hours in the water practicing your balance on the board while getting a feel for the waves and the basic techniques on how to stand up and paddle effectively. For beginners, these lessons will introduce you to surfing and give you the tools for what often becomes a lifelong passion. For intermediates, you will have a chance to hone your skills on a relatively unknown and empty beach. Those of you from California know how much of a privilege that can be!

Intermediate & Advanced Surfers (Surfing Safari) :
There is a maximum of 4 surfers for this special package and requirements that you have previous surfing experience (at least an intermediate level) and fairly strong swimming skills. For intermediate and advanced surfers, this is the ultimate Costa Rican surfing experience!!

Our Costa Rican Surfing Safari is not compatible with Spanish or Poi lessons but may be combined with yoga for an additional $50 per week.
