New Zealand Institute of Sport:
The New Zealand Institute of Sport was established in 1996. It provides tertiary level programmes for students wanting to work in the sports, fitness and recreation industry. The Institute has its campus in the centre of New Zealand's vibrant capital, Wellington. The Institute offers several tertiary level programmes that may prove attractive to the international student. These include: Certificate in Exercise Prescription and Sports Management (includes the national Certificate in Sports), NZIS Diploma in Sport (Sport Management), NZIS Diploma in Sport (Exercise Prescription). All these courses are for a one year duration.

NZIS Basketball Academy
Basketball is one of the fastest growing sports in New Zealand. The New Zealand Institute of Sport recognises and is looking to provide opportunities for young aspiring athletes to excel with regard to sport performance, but also in terms of education and personal growth.
All Academy players will choose from the wide range of Educational courses that the NZ Institute of Sport has to offer. Courses range from level 2 right up to level 5 and 6 on the NZQA framework. NZIS is a registered and accredited tertiary provider with courses nationally and internationally recognised.
NZIS Rugby Academy
The New Zealand Institute of Sport sucessfully launched its high performance Rugby Academy in 2008 in Manukau City , Auckland . The Academy is designed to maximize success for students looking to continue on to the higher levels in Rugby and Educ
ation. This may be in senior club Rugby, all provincial age grade teams, Meads and Lachore Cup, Air New Zealand Cup, Super 14 and beyond to the Manu Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, New Zealand Maori, All Black Junior's, Black Ferns and ALL BLACKS.
NZIS Touch Academy
Touch is one of the fastest growing sports in New Zealand with over 317,000 participants nationwide (Touch NZ). The New Zealand Institute of Sport has recognised this trend and is looking to provide opportunities for young aspiring athletes to excel with not only their sport performance, but also in terms of education and personal growth.

NZIS Volleyball Academy - National Champions!
The New Zealand Institute of Sport's Volleyball team became the first Wellington team to take the national women’s Volleyball title defeating the top ranked Northern Zone team, Waitakere in a five set thriller at the national championships being held in Palmerston North.
