Summer Acting School in Connecticut
The Flying Swan Acting Program, located on the campus of Wesleyan University, Middletown, Connecticut (near the New York area), this summer theater program is designed for teens and pre-college students, ages 16 to 20, who wish to raise the level of their acting skills. The Flying Swan faculty, drawn from outstanding performing arts school & drama school programs in the UK and the United States, also features distinguished professional actors and directors whose knowledge and experience in theater provide an invaluable resource. The four-week program is intensive and challenging and requires total commitment from its participants.
Founded in 1831, Wesleyan, is a small, highly selective, private New England college located two hours from New York City and Boston. Known for its arts faculty, Wesleyan combines the best features of a small liberal-arts college and a large research university, where mentoring and individual instruction are offered by distinguished faculty who pursue rigorous research agendas.
Courses
- Compulsory Classes: Modern American Drama, Audition Technique, Voice, Introduction to Shakespeare.
- Optional Classes: Acting for the Musical Theater, Physical Acting.
- Evening Classes: Improvisation, Movement/Dance.
No class shall have more than 14 students. Students should bring clothes suitable for movement and voice classes.
