 The
department of Spanish as a foreign language of
the Pontificial University of Salamanca offers a
quality summer program in Spanish language and
culture, covering all levels from beginner to
advanced.
The program includes four hours of class of
Spanish Language and Culture a day (from 09:00 –
13:00 h), consisting of a grammar part, a
conversational part as well as optional subjects
(Spanish and Hispano-American literature,
Spanish civilization and culture, Spanish for
special purposes).

experience Salamanca, plus excursions and
cultural activities!
Salamanca is situated in Castile-Leon,
the region where the standard accent of Spanish
is spoken, therefore it is the perfect place to
study Spanish. It is a beautiful city of 160,000
inhabitants in western Spain, 200 kilometres
from Madrid. Salamanca unites the advantages
of a big city with the atmosphere of a small
town: orientation is easy and you will feel at
home quickly. The nightlife is very lively, as
there are approximately 25.000 students living
in Salamanca. In 2002, the city was declared
a UNESCO World Heritage City for its architectural
and artistic wealth.
Quality Courses: Your Spanish level will
be determined by means of a level test on the
first day of the course to make sure the classes
match your requirements. You can also
participate without any previous knowledge of
Spanish. Teachers have been selected on the
basis of academic excellence, professionalism,
and experience in teaching in order to guarantee
the best results. The classes take place in
pleasant and bright setting in small groups (12
students maximum).
Our objective is not only to teach you how to
dominate the language, but that you gain an
understanding of the Spanish habits and
traditions, the way of thinking and living. You
will be living with a Spanish family (homestay)
and take part in various excursions and cultural
activities. There are three daytrips included in
the course price, one to Segovia, one to Toledo
and one to Madrid.
Some of the features includes:
- 4 hours of class a day from 9am to 1pm
- Homestay accommodation for 6 weeks with a Spanish
family (full board and laundry service)
- Level test, Course materials including books, folders and
photocopies
- Guided Tour of the City, Expert tourist guide,
Day trips to Segovia, Toledo, Madrid
- Free Internet access and tutored practice
session in the language laboratory two days a
week in the afternoon
- Weekly showings of important Spanish Language
films and debate about themes raised
- Medical and Travel Insurance from arrival to
departure.
