American Pacific International School provides and inspiring academic and student life curriculum, where international diversity and our host culture are celebrated. We believe in developing our students’ self-esteem and encouraging healthy, ethical lifestyles.

Kindergarten Program; Elementary Program; Middle & High School Program. The American curriculum is followed. Preparation for SAT, TOEFL & IELTS tests. English is the core language of Instruction. Other modern languages are taught.. Provision is made throughout the school for speakers of languages other than English.

Students at APIS are encouraged to be risk takers, enquirers, thinkers, communicators. We also encourage them to be open- minded, caring, principled and well balanced individuals.In order for us to achieve these goals we have developed a ‘classroom without walls week’ program for Grade 1-12 students that is closely linked to the curriculum and has been designed for students to put what they have learned in the classroom into practice outside the classroom.

During this week students visit places of interest, explore caves, gain diving qualifications, do teambuilding exercises, community service, raft, camp, build houses, meet interesting people, build rafts, go kayaking and plenty more. Younger students don’t venture to far from home, but as the students grow older, the program allows them to become more independent and adventurous.

At APIS, we encourage all students to be both mentally and physically fit. We encourage them to become balanced, well rounded people with a wide range of interests and skills. We believe that all students should be given the opportunity to experience different activities during their time at school so that they are able to develop those interest later as leisure pursuits which give them life-long pleasure.

The Activities Program at APIS caters for all: it includes cultural, theatrical, physical, artististic, musical, academic and scientific pusuits. All activities have clear learning outcomes and are run by staff who have a passion for the activity they offer. Some of the activities enjoyed in recent months have been:

The activities program at APIS takes place after school on two days each week. Day students and boarders are included. Parents and students are informed of the options in advance and are given a description of activities on offer for the season so that together they can make an informed decision on what activity will best suit the student’s needs. Students then have the opportunity to “test” the activity and there is a one week window where students have the option to change their activity if they feel they have made the wrong choice.

The team sports program and inter-school sporting fixtures run parallel to the activities program in three seasons each school year.
