 NIS was founded in 1993 to meet the need for advanced
international secular education in Chiang Mai, a hub of advanced
education and multi-cultural center of the Northern Thailand and
neighboring countries. The school enjoys a truly state-of-the-art
facility, which will benefit the entire school community in the
years ahead. From its inception, NIS has been a place of learning
that emphasizes a close relationship between teachers and
students; an intimate atmosphere that engenders caring from
teachers and enthusiasm from their pupils from Grades K1-12 (ages
3.5 - 18).
NIS strives to nurture in all students a quality
of concern for others, open mindedness, and
responsibility, as well as an appreciation of
their own dignity as human beings. Not only do
we stress the development of the individual, but
also emphasize the importance of living
meaningfully and effectively in a larger world
society. Finally, we believe education is a
lifelong, ongoing process. We encourage students
to understand this premise so they will be
prepared to meet future challenges.Courses
Academics - American
style curriculum, Kindergarten, Primary School (Math, Science, English
and Social Studies), ESL with classes divided between Thai nationals
and non-Thais, P.E., Music, Art and Computer basics are also
incorporated into the program, Middle School, High School - follow a
US curriculum.
