Sixth Form Boarding School in England, UK
Cambridge Centre For Sixth-form Studies: Cambridge is ideal for young people. It is small enough to get to know easily, yet its excellent museums, theatres, shops, cafes and restaurants offer the facilities of a much larger city. Cambridge is situated 50 miles north of London by car, and can be reached by train from both Liverpool Street and Kings Cross stations in London. The journey takes about an hour and the trains are frequent.
CCSS is less than five minutes walk from Cambridge Railway Station. The new high-speed link from London Waterloo to the Channel Tunnel has just opened so trains to Europe are now much faster and have fewer security delays than airports. National Express coach (bus) service run services from nearby airports London Luton (LON LU), London Stansted (LON STN), London Heathrow (LON HTH) and London Gatwick (LON GAT) to Cambridge. Most services run hourly in both directions. The majority of our international students use this service and it has proved to be safe and reliable.
Location and Facilities:
CCSS is situated in the historic and exciting university town of Cambridge, close to the railway station and 50 minutes' train-ride north of London, with easy connections to international airports. Our three teaching sites are within a few minutes' walk of each other and house 35 classrooms including laboratories, study rooms and specialist facilities for subjects such as Modern Languages, Media Studies, Art, Photography and Computing. Our nearby College Houses provide fully supervised single-room accommodation for 125 of our students (all rooms with free broadband internet access).
