All of our host families are carefully selected, and regularly inspected by our experienced Accommodation Officer. It is normally possible to cater for your special needs, as long as we have enough information about your requirements at least four weeks before your course starts(we may need more time in the busy summer months).

You may choose between:
• Single host family accommodation
• Executive family accommodation – with extra-special attention, larger bedrooms and en-suite facilities.

Whichever you choose, you will have a comfortable, clean room with a desk to study at. Accommodation is half-board during the week (bed, breakfast and evening meal) and full-board at weekends (bed, breakfast, lunch and evening meal).
Most of our families live along a convenient bus route, so that coming to ETC each day will not take too long and should not cost too much money. Above all, you can be sure that whichever of ETC’s families you stay with, you will be made very welcome.

Please note that ETC does not firmly book host family accommodation until we are informed that the student has obtained a visa and full fees have been paid.
Accommodation is provided subject to availability

There is a £10 per week supplement for all types of accommodation in the busy summer months (July and August - please ask for the exact dates).

There is a £30 per week supplement during the Christmas holiday. We cannot always offer accommodation during the Christmas holiday.
Our Definitions:

Single rooms are available in either “Homestay Accommodation” or “Private Home Accommodation”:

Homestay Accommodation means that hosts treat the student as a full member of the household, eating together and sharing the common living areas.No more than three adult or four junior students will be accommodated in Homestay accommodation at any one time.

Private Home Accommodation means that more than three adult students may be accommodated in the home and there may be less direct contact with the host(s). Private home accommodation is not suitable for juniors.

Junior (ie. Under 18 years of age) and adult students will not be accommodated in the same families.In all cases, students are placed in host families as close to the school as possible.

Clients who are over the age of 18 have the opportunity to book and stay in Hotel Accommodation at one of several Hotels in close proximity to the ETC English Language School building.

Some of these Hotels are within 5 minutes’ walk of our centre and very convenient also, therefore, for visiting the town centre shops, library and other amenities.

This accommodation is available on a bed and breakfast basis throughout the year, with the option of an evening meal. The Hotels can be in great demand, so clients will need to book well in advance of their arrival time to secure a place.

Residential Accommodation

All such accommodation is offered subject to availability.
The summer months in particular are very busy, so it is very important to book early.

Hotel room rates vary.
Single room rates are approximately £20 to £140 per night.
En-suite facilities are sometimes available, though we cannot guarantee this - please check at the time of booking.

Self-Catering
For those Students who are interested in Self-Catering Accommodation we recommend that you initially book with either a Host Family or Hotel for the beginning of your stay. Once you arrive in England you will then be able to search for Self-Catering Accommodation that meets your requirements.
