Taunton International Study Centre (TISC) is for international pupils aged 13 to 17 years, and is your first step into main stream education in the United Kingdom. TISC is located in Taunton, Somerset in the South West of England and is part of Taunton School, an independent boarding and day school for boys and girls.

TISC BOARDING PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICE: We aim to provide a high quality boarding environment which promotes the welfare of each individual, and encourages his or her all round development. We want each of our students to be fulfilled and happy and, at the minimum, this requires that they must feel secure, and are properly looked after by well qualified and experienced people who are well disposed to children.
- TISC is a mixed boarding house with between 50 and 60 students, aged 13 to 17, from many different countries. This gives students the opportunity to mix with a range of people of different talents, cultures and background.
- The boarding house is led by the Principal, aided by a male and a female residential House Tutor who are both EAL specialists.
- Additionally there are a male and a female Graduate House Assistant who help the House Tutors with pastoral care.
- There are also pastoral assistants who assist the house staff on a rota basis.
- Each student is also allocated a tutor from the academic staff who monitors their welfare as well as their academic progress.
- There is an ongoing programme of refurbishment and redecoration which underlines our commitment to high quality boarding.

Taunton School Sports Club is a relaxed, informal facility comprised of a fitness suite, 25 metre indoor pool, heated outdoor pool, badminton courts, squash courts, tennis courts and various other sporting facilities such as Cricket & Rugby pitches.

Various fitness classes are also run on a time-tabled basis. These classes are available to members and non-members for a nominal fee. We offer various levels of membership, from "Play and Play" to Individual" to "Full" (Family).

Qualified staff are always on hand to assist you. In the fitness suite we can help you achieve your goals by creating a personalised fitness programme. We also have a Personal Trainer, who is available to tailor a specific fitness programme to meet your needs

Each holiday period let Taunton School provide your child with a series of fun and inspiring activities. Choose from a selection of professionally run Taunton School fun activity courses, sports specific courses learning skills from professional sports men and women with current coaches or book a space on the popular summer water breaks at Wimbleball Lake. Let Taunton School provide you with the ideal form of holiday care for your child.

For your convenience, each holiday, drop off times start at 8.30am and collection up to 5.30pm. All courses are fully inclusive of hot lunch* and all refreshment breaks. All courses also include the opportunity for every child to swim in one of Taunton Schools swimming pools*.
