Located in Roedean village on the eastern edge of Brighton, East Sussex on the South Coast of England, Roedean is an independent boarding and day school for girls aged 3-18 and for boys aged 3-11. Our students are exposed to a rich variety of cultures in a creative, yet purposeful atmosphere. Our broad curriculum ensures that they have a rounded foundation for future academic studies. The children who benefit most from our blend of creative, yet purposeful, teaching are focused, determined and committed to doing their best. These are the attributes we look for: traits not associated with any particular race or background.
Despite having achieved top A Level results for Sussex in 2008, Roedean is not driven by a one-dimensional hunt for academic glory. Instead, we believe that our job is to to develop the spirit, values and individual personalities of our students. Our boarding facilites are open to girls as of year 7. Girls are cared for in each House by a Head of House who leads a team of residential staff. The older girls assist by developing the House spirit and supporting the younger girls.
