There is no fixed course length, as we feel it is important to be flexible, in order that students can decide what period of study suits them best. Accreditation

Language upon Thames is accredited by the British Council for the provision of English courses and a member of English UK, the national association of accredited English language centres. The Accreditation UK scheme, run by the British Council and English UK, assures high quality standards for the UK English language sector. Here is an extract from the British Council’s inspection report:

“The British Council inspected and accredited Language upon Thames in November 2006. The Accreditation Scheme assesses the standards of management, resources and premises, teaching and welfare and accredits organisations which meet the overall standard in each area inspected. This small private language school offers courses in general English to adults and vacation courses for young adults. The inspection report stated that the organisation met the standards of the Scheme”

This is our most popular form of accommodation. Students stay with carefully selected families in the surrounding area, giving them the opportunity to socialise, eat meals and live with a local family. We organise homestay with a dedicated local agency who have access to a large network of homes in the local area.

Single Room - Bed, Breakfast & Evening meal - £130 per week
Twin Room - Bed, Breakfast & Evening meal - £120 per week
Single Room - Bed, Breakfast Only - £115 per week
Plus a one off £25 booking fee

What's included?

- A safe, clean and comfortable home with a kind and caring family. Please note- students under 18 are only placed with host families who have been police checked.
- Single or twin rooms include: adequate storage facilities, desk/table for studying (internet available in some houses), bed linen and towels changed on a weekly basis. Rooms will also be cleaned on a weekly basis.
- Families will launder personal clothing (max 1-2 loads p/w) at no extra cost.
- Access to bathroom facilities (bath/shower available daily).
- Location – Families are conveniently located near our school or near convenient public transport services. All are close to central London and student nightspots.
- Special needs (allergies and dietary requirements) can be catered for.
