Independent Boarding & Day School in England, UK
 Hordle Walhampton School is a forward-looking,
independent boarding and day school for boys and
girls from 2 - 13 years old. We are located in
Lymington, Hampshire on the Southern edge of the
New Forest. Lymington lies on the south coast of
England halfway between Southampton and
Bournemouth and is only 90 miles south west of
London. It can be reached in about 90 minutes by
train from London Waterloo or by car (via the
M3, M27, A337) in about 2 hours.
Lakes, woodland and extensive games fields
surround the main school house, providing
wonderful facilities for traditional games,
sailing, riding and fieldwork. There are three
boarding houses: The Lodge, Clockhouse and
Mainhouse, with warm, comfortable bedrooms in
family atmosphere. We offer flexible
arrangements to suit home and child.Courses
In the Prep School there are two classes per
year group and, if numbers dictate, sometimes
three.
In Years Three and Four, children are in forms
of parallel ability but set for English and
Maths. From Year Five the forms are streamed and
children continue to be set in English and
Maths.
Children are prepared for 13+ CE and
scholarships to senior independent schools.
However we are mindful that some children will
leave at 11and we prepare them for those exams,
too.
