At Taunton School, we aim to create an atmosphere in which Sixth Form pupils can develop their own unique collection of talents. We encourage all Sixth Formers to make the most of a wide range of opportunities that will allow them to move smoothly into the wider world – we hope that they will feel confident with their new found independence as they move towards higher education and the world of work. There is a great deal of scope for breadth and, although emphasis is focused on academic study, we ensure that individuals do not lose sight of aesthetic, sporting and social interests.

The choice and range of extra-curricula opportunities - notably sporting and recreational pursuits - also rate highly with boarders. Where distance from home to school is a factor, time spent travelling will impact on the time that can be devoted to leisure pursuits. By living at the school pupils have both the time and the facilities available to them for developing sporting skills and social contacts. Pupils benefit from the range of activities available to boarders and in many cases, can participate in a variety of cultural and leisure activities.
