Youth Soccer Boarding School in England, UK
EduKick presents the English Immersion Soccer Boarding School in Blackburn, England hosted by the Blackburn Rovers of the English Premier League. EduKick England's English Immersion Soccer Camp is a "Year-Long" Program which runs from September 2006 until June 2007, and is open to boys and girls soccer players 14-18 years old. Each morning (Monday-Friday), EduKick student-players will attend a local public High School or University along side local Spanish students.Courses
Year-Long English Immersion Soccer Boarding
Program with Academic Language Element. This
program is available to foreign nationals and
English speaking youth.
Academic Language Element of the Program:
Each day (Monday-Friday), EduKick
student-players will attend the "First Diploma
in Football Studies" full-time one year course
run at the Blackburn Rovers Indoor Centre,
situated within the Ewood Park stadium complex.
This course is attended by native English
speakers and is conducted entirely in English.
It is run jointly by Myerscough College in
partnership with Blackburn Rovers Football Club.
This program will be comprised of 6 Modules:
- The Sports Industry:
Gives an insight into sport, its organisation
and place in our society. It also looks at
issues affecting sport in the modern world.
- Health, Safety and Injury (Football):
Looks at the major risk factors that can effect
an athlete and their performance ie sports
injuries
- Preparation for Sport:
Gives an insight into how to prepare for
successful sports performance including:
fitness, lifestyle, nutrition and psychology
- The Body in Sport:
Introduction into the structure and function of
the human body and how it responds before,
during and after exercise.
- Sports Leadership Skills:
Introduction to the skills, techniques and
knowledge required when leading sports,
recreational and play activities
- Practical Sport (Football)
Focuses on improving and developing the player's
practical performance, in a game or an
individual performance.
Soccer training sessions are in the
afternoons/evenings and the participating
players will compete on the weekends playing in
"friendly" matches when possible.
