GEOS Language Institute is located in the center of Boston, right in the Downtown Crossing shopping district and close to Quincy Market and Government Center, convenient to all public transportation and a short subway ride from many of Boston's famous universities.
Accreditation: We are accredited by ACCET and authorized by federal law to enroll non-immigrant students.
Courses:
We offer full time and part time English as a Second Language (ESL) and iBT TOEFL Preparation courses.
- Intensive English Course: This full-time English program is designed for international students who wish to develop their ESL communication skills, grammar, vocabulary, idioms, writing, and reading.
- iBT TOEFL Preparation Course: Features creative learning activities and small classes to help you prepare for the iBT TOEFL Exam. Students learn skills and strategies for the reading and writing, listening and speaking sections of the test.
- Junior English Group Courses: These custom designed group courses are for teens aged 15 to 19 and include English lessons, after-school activities, and homestay program.
- The GEOS Homestay Program offers a comfortable single room located on public transportation with 2 meals/day in a family home where students can practice their English daily.
- GMAT preparation course. Spend 8 hours/week working on verbal and essay-writing skills to prepare for the business school entrance exam.
- Business English – English courses for professionals working in Boston offered at times that accommodate a full-time work schedule.
- Company English lessons for corporate clients - We can customize our courses to your company's needs, arranging courses at various times of day. We are happy to offer lessons on-site, or to offer promotions on our regular courses to employee groups.
- Private English Lessons: Students can work on specific areas of their business English one-on-one with their instructor.
Academic Counseling::
During the first two weeks of study, all new students will be asked to take part in an academic counseling session with the school's academic staff. You will have the opportunity to discuss and workout any problems or concerns you may be having with your studies. On the last day of each four-week session we offer our full time students individual counseling. Students will receive a report card with their grades and comments from teachers about their performance during the month.
Accommodation:
The GEOS Homestay Program is intended to give visiting foreign students a first-hand experience of American culture by sharing with their host family in everyday life. We also can provide students with local residence accommodation including dormitory-style residence halls with single and shared rooms, studio apartments, hostels, and the Boston YMCA/YWCA.
