Contact Page - Intensive English courses in Boston Geos Language Institute, Boston:As part of a network of 550 language schools worldwide, GEOS Language Institute Boston, in Massachusetts on the East Coast of the US, offers full-time and part-time Intensive English Programs. Students work with two different teachers (one for the morning class and one for the afternoon class) and the most up-to-date, effective textbooks and materials available. Our Full-Time Intensive English Courses meet five days per week, for a total of 20 educational hours each week while our part-time meet four days per week, Monday through Thursday, for a total of 10 or 16 educational hours each week. Our professional, experienced a nd attentive instructors will guide students towards fluency with creative and helpful learning activities. With 14 or less students in the classes, students have plenty of opportunity both to practice their English and meet interesting new friends from around the world.This course is communicative-based with an emphasis on speaking and listening skills. There are five different levels of study (see below), from beginner through advanced. A placement test helps us find the best class level for each student. At the end of each four-week session, each student will receive a written evaluation and have a one-on-one counseling with one of their teachers. This is how we help you monitor your progress. After each three month semester, students receive a report card. After their course, students receive a GEOS certificate. Level 2 High Beginner: Give and respond to apologies, excuses, and permissions; Express and respond to worry, disappointment, feelings; Request desired goods or services. Level 3 Intermediate: Engage in a general conversation and keep conversation going; Express and analyze opinions; Extract meaning/general ideas from written texts. Level 4 High Intermediate: Ask for recommendations and provide solutions to problems; Express hope, regret, gratitude, and sympathy; Understand personal, general, or specialized prose. Level 5 Pre-Advanced: Obtain, organize, and present information; Attract attention, express concern, seek advice; Understand purpose and meaning of complex forms, letters, etc. Level 6 Advanced: Give and follow instructions on technical and non-technical tasks; Express indifference, approval, disapproval, intentions; Understand complex formal instructions in various settings.
