 The
philosophy of Koby Language Center (KLC) is to
provide quality English language instruction in
a culturally rich and supportive environment: a
variety of programs, professional teachers and
staff, outstanding location and facilities, and
a feeling of community.
Professional Teachers and Administrators:
Our teachers and administrators promote academic
performance and business professionalism.
Teachers are selected for their dedication,
professionalism, and academic competence. We all
share the common mission of meeting our
students' present and future goals in academics,
business, and cultural understanding.
Small Class Sizes:
Each class is limited to 12 students. Small
classes ensure individualized attention,
intensive student-teacher interaction, lively
discussions, and frequent participation.
In a City of Culture and Education:
KLC of Ann Arbor is located in the heart of
downtown Ann Arbor, adjacent to the University
of Michigan Central Campus. Being in the center
of everything from theaters, libraries, and
museums to bookstores, coffee shops, parking,
and transportation, students are immersed in the
center of Ann Arbor's culture and activity.
School Facilities:
The school has six classrooms, a large CALL
(Computer Assisted Language Learning) lab, three
administrative offices, a reception area,
bathrooms, student lockers, and a kitchenette.
Our new CALL lab can accommodate 16 students
with the latest technology and software for
study and TOEFL iBT testing. Many windows around
the school provide a wonderful view of the
surrounding city.Programs
KLC of Ann Arbor offers comprehensive and
intensive English programs for those who are
serious about improving their English, academic
English programs for K-12, test preparation
programs for high school and college students,
and business English programs for business
professionals. We also design personalized
English programs for individuals and groups.
Programs are offered as four-week terms
throughout the year.
College Bound & Intensive English Programs:
Students who seriously want to improve their
English would enroll in the College Bound
English Program (CBEP) or Intensive English
Program (IEP), both of which are offered in four
levels of proficiency. Classes are five days a
week, Monday to Friday. CBEP & IEP classes may
also be taken part-time, two or three days per
week.
School English Program: Designed for
elementary and junior high school students, SEP
is a great way to improve English in a
comfortable after school setting.
Business English Program: Business
professionals who would like to increase their
English proficiency for business and work would
enroll in the Business English Program (BEP).
Classes are two days a week, Tuesday and
Thursday.
Test Preparation Programs: Students who
need to improve on or prepare for English
language proficiency tests would enroll in
either the Test Preparation Program for TOEFL (TPP-A)
or the Test Preparation Program for TOEIC (TPP-B).
TOEFL classes are four days a week, Monday
through Thursday; TOEIC classes meet Monday &
Wednesday.
Personalized English Program: Individuals
and business executives with specific needs
would enroll in our Personalized English Program
(PEP). Course content and times are designed for
each group or individual.
