Portland State University is Oregon's largest university, offering more than 120 areas of study. Over 24,000 students attend PSU, including over 1000 international students from 90+ countries. Founded in 1964, the Intensive English Language Program (IELP) at Portland State University is one of the oldest university-based ESL programs in the western USA. Each term between 150 - 225 students, from over 20 countries, attend the IELP. The IELP helps students improve English and prepare for university level coursework, as well as for personal, business, travel, or general purposes. PSU is located in the heart of beautiful downtown Portland, a scenic, green, clean, and safe city, with a population of 1.8 million people. Students can easily walk or take public transportation everywhere. No TOEFL score is needed for admission to the IELP or for admission to PSU.

The Texas Intensive English Program (TIEP), established in 1965, is an accredited, nonprofit educational organization in Austin, Texas. TIEP instructors are highly-trained professionals with master's or Ph.D. degrees and an average of more than 10 years teaching experience. TIEP is a program of the Texas International Education Consortium, an association of 32 Texas public universities. TIEP services and facilities include assistance with housing, visa counseling, university and college placement, Conversation Club, Movie Club, field trips, cultural activities, access to university libraries and recreational sports facilities, and a computer lab with free e-mail and Internet access. TIEP is an Open TOEIC Test Center administers the TOEIC test 12 times per year. TIEP is accredited by CEA - Commission on English Language Program Accreditation and is a member of AAIEP - American Association of Intensive English Programs and UCIEPUniversity and College Intensive English Programs.

American Collegiate English (ACE) is an intensive English language and TOEFL preparatory program located on the Grossmont Community College Campus, in El Cajon (San Diego County), California. ACE is designed for international students who need to improve their language skills to prepare for entry into US colleges. ACE provides a smooth transition to Grossmont College, which is a two-year public institution. Students may earn associate degrees and certificates in many different fields of study or may elect to transfer to a university after studying at Grossmont for two years. Grossmont has transfer agreements with the University of California San Diego (UCSD) and San Diego State University (SDSU), both of which are but a short drive from Grossmont College.

Five eight-week sessions are offered every year. Each eight-week ACE session consists of twenty hours per week of intermediate-level English instruction in grammar, composition, oral communication, reading, vocabulary, and TOEFL iBT preparation.
