School in the Park is a private middle school "Doing School Differently" in beautiful Sarasota, Florida where students walk to the Gulf coast or the Botanic Gardens for 'class'. Our discovery based learning environment is for enthusiastic learners in grades 5th-8th. The student is engaged in small classes that provide the individual attention and nurturing needed to develop a child's confidence, skills, and love for learning during the middle school years. Creative electives on T-TH expand the M-W-F Core Curriculum (Latin, Literature, Math, History, and Science). Limited enrollment.

Courses
Challenging Middle School curriculum includes Investigative Science, Algebra, Geometry, Singapore Math, History, Literature, Latin, Mandarin Chinese, Computers & Technology, Gardening, Journalism, WoodWorking, Creative Problem Solving, Florida Naturalist, Art, Music and a variety of imaginative electives such as a science-based class called 'Crime Scenes' or social issues in 'Pop Culture for Teens' or 'FaithWalk'.
Award-winning program includes competitive sports as members of Private Gulf Coast League (Soccer, Basketball, Golf, and Tennis); competitive academics (County Science and History Fairs, Math teams, Poetry contest, Science Journal Awards); community service, and individual cooperation in community through cooperative learning opportunities under our honor code and engaged in our accountable learning environment.
