West Suburban Chinese School, Illinois:
The West Suburban Chinese Language School in Elmhurst was founded 1978, by Chinese families living in eastern DuPage County, Illinois, for the purpose of teaching Chinese language (Mandarin) and Chinese culture to young people. It is a non-profit organization, funded primarily by participating members and families. In addition, all members are required to volunteer time and services for various school activities. Over the years, the school has developed into a quality language and culture center, equipped to serve all residents in the area regardless of age or ethnicity. The school is located approximately 20 miles from downtown Chicago, and is a member of the Midwest Chinese Language School Association.

 Programs:

Intensive Mandarin Chinese Programs; Business Mandarin Chinese Programs; Chinese Dance; Chinese painting; Chinese calligraphy and Conversational Chinese.

The school is a member of the Midwest Chinese Language School Association.


 Faculty:

Language teachers have a minimum of a four-year college degree from Taiwan or China. Most teachers majored in Chinese language and literature and have extensive experience in teaching Chinese at the secondary or university level in Taiwan or China. The majority of teachers also received graduate degrees from universities in the U.S. They are proficient both in Chinese and English.
