La Lumiere School:
It is situated on a beautiful rural estate in northwest Indiana, 25 miles west of South Bend, 60 miles east of Chicago, and 8 miles north of La Porte. At the center of its 155 rolling acres is a picturesque country lake fed by natural springs.
For almost a half-century, La Lumiere School has provided a comprehensive college-preparatory education for qualified young men and women from a rich diversity of backgrounds. Current enrollment is 165 students. The school is governed by a Board of Trustees chosen from dedicated parents and alumni. It seeks to develop character, scholarship, and faith, while remaining both independently accredited and faithful to its Catholic heritage.
Location and Facilities:
Students can choose from a variety of sports programs including soccer, volleyball, football, basketball, conditioning, tennis, baseball, dance team and track. For the most part, coaches are teaching faculty members.
On our 155-acre campus, students can take advantage of athletic facilities, open fields, or computer lab. At the Sullivan Student Activity Center, students can relax, play games, or get a snack from the school store.
Weekly chapel programs help to develop awareness of current events and the needs of others. Recent speakers include a celebration of the life of founding headmaster, James Moore; and a talk with 1974 graduate, Paris Barclay an Emmy award-winning director.
