Courses:
Courses: Full time and part time English Language (ESL) and iBT TOEFL Preparation courses.
- Intensive English Course: This full-time English class is communicative based with an emphasis on developing speaking and listening skills. Our Intensive English class is designed to help ESL students improve both spoken and written English. With six levels of study from beginner through advanced, this course features a comprehensive curriculum of integrated skills - grammar, vocabulary & idioms, speaking & listening, and reading & writing. Students work with two different teachers (one for the morning class and one for the afternoon class).
- iBT TOEFL Preparation Course: This course has be updated to help international students who are preparing to take the iBT TOEFL exam for entrance into American colleges and universities. This comprehensive course helps students prepare for all sections (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) of the iBT TOEFL test by developing the special skills and strategies required for the test. Students work with two different instructors and the most up-to-date, effective textbooks and materials available.
- The GEOS Homestay Program - practice your English daily, experience American culture and the California lifestyle with a San Francisco host family.
- Business English – in both group classes and one-to-one tutoring. This program is designed to help international business professionals prepare to use English in both present and future work situations. The focus of the program is business related communication skills, oral and written.
- Volunteer Program: This is the best program for people who think that just studying in school is not enough! You can use your free time after school to volunteer 2 or 3 days a week. This program gives you a wide view of international culture and high motivation to study English!
Academic Counseling:During the first two weeks of study, all new students will be asked to take part in an academic counseling session with the school's academic staff. You will have the opportunity to discuss and workout any problems or concerns you may be having with your studies. On the last day of each four-week session we offer our full time students individual counseling. Students will receive a report card with their grades and comments from teachers about their performance during the month.
Homestay Program
The GEOS Homestay Program is intended to give visiting foreign students a first-hand experience of American culture by sharing with their host family in everyday life. As well as being able to use practical English language skills they have learned in school, it is expected that students will be able to participate in family activities for a holistic view of life in San Francisco. Our host families live inside and outside of San Francisco.

- 2 minute walk to the BART and Muni lines where you can access the Golden Gate Bridge, Ocean Beach, Golden Gate Park, the Presidio, the Castro District, Haight / Ashbury, Twin Peaks, The San Francisco Public Library, Coit Tower, North Beach, Pier 39, the University of California at Berkeley, Lombard Street, etc.
- 5 - 10 minute walk from all 3 cable car lines
- 10 - 15 minute walk to Chinatown, the Museum of Modern Art, Union Square and more.
