 Penobscot
School is located in Rockland, Maine, a fishing
port of 8,000 inhabitants on the New England coast of
the USA. Since 1986, it has offered language learning and international cultural exchange to local and international adults, families, small groups and businesses. Lodging is a homestay with an American family. Homestay families are volunteers who want to get to know you and help you learn English. Participants have ranged in age from 21 to 65 (the average age is 35), have come from 49 different countries, and have included actors, architects, artists, business-people, contractors, diplomats, doctors and nurses, engineers, geologists, journalists, lawyers, social workers, teachers, university students and professors, and many others.
CoursesThe goal of the Summer English Program for adults is maximum English acquisition. Each session is limited to 15 students to allow for individualized instruction.
Three hours of class each weekday,
24/7 conversational immersion, outdoor
activities, meals and homestay included.
