The Art Institute Of Houston:
The Art Institute of Houston in Houston, TX is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Art Institutes International, Inc. The Art Institute of Houston trains students in Media Arts & Animation, Culinary Arts, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Interactive Media Design, and Restaurant & Catering Management.

Founded as the Houston School of Commercial Art in 1965, the school technically has been in existence for over 30 years. However, we celebrate the date when the college joined The Art Institutes in 1978. With three decades of creative arts history, the school has graduated nearly 10,000 alumni who work in Houston, all over Texas, the nation and around the world.

The institute is located in the heart of Houston, the nation's fourth largest city. A lively and liveable metropolis of approximately 4.8 million people, Houston is a multi-cultural city, full of bayous, marshlands, and natural forest, and home to a number of international and domestic companies.

Accreditation & Licensing: The Art Institute of Houston is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Bachelor of Fine Arts and Associate of Applied Science degrees. The Art Institute is authorized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to award Associate of Applied Art and Associate of Applied Science degrees. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has granted a certificate of Authority to The Art Institute of Houston to award the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in Interior Design, Graphic Design and Media Arts & Animation. The Associate of Applied Science degree in Culinary Arts is accredited by the American Culinary Federation (ACF).
