Manukau
Institute of Technology offers 1500 full and part time certificate,
diploma, degree and post graduate study programmes, and a whole lot
more. Manukau City located in the Auckland region of the North Island,
is New Zealand's third largest city, and with 150 different ethnic
communities calling it home, is proudly multi-cultural. Manukau
Institute of Technology's academic year is as follows: semester one
runs February – June, semester two: July – November. Many programmes
have intakes in both semesters. English language programes are
available from February to December. There are four intakes per year:
February, April, July, and October. A 6-week summer school is run in
December and January. Each academic programme has its own entrance
criteria. Each academic department has its own system of assessment.
Examinations, tests, assignments and practical work are used in most
cases. Exams are usually held at the end of each semester. Your course
work marks as well as your exam marks determine whether you will
succeed in a particular subject.
