Florida Associate Degree College Programs
Established 1959, Miami Dade College (MDC) in Florida, awards more associate's degrees than any other school in the nation and graduates the highest number of minority students. That is the finding of Community College Week magazine in its 2004 report on "The Top 100 Associate's Degree Producers." A multi-campus, two-year, state-supported community college with six campuses and numerous outreach centers, Miami Dade is nationally recognized as one of the largest and best community colleges in the country. It is governed by a seven-member District Board of Trustees and a college president.
Fields of study include accounting, architecture, allied health technologies, aviation, biology, business and computers, child development, criminal justice, engineering, entertainment technologies, fire science, foreign languages, history, human services, legal assisting, mass communication, mathematics, physical therapy, psychology, social work, teaching, the arts.
