All courses cover the basic language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. There are practical conversation classes with role-play and debate, which help develop fluency and authentic pronunciation.

 Location:

LocationUniversidad FASTA is located in the city of Bariloche in the province of Río Negro, in the Patagonia region of Argentina, which lies between the forested foothills of the Andes and the vast, arid patagonian steppe. From here, you can conveniently visit Glaciar Perito Moreno, Península de Valdés or other natural wonders of Argentina.

In the west lie the Andes. To the east is the coastline of the South Atlantic. It continues south, into Tierra del Fuego, where the world ends and the American continent's southern most mountains drop into icy seas: Patagonia.

Argentine Patagonia, the vast triangle (over three quarters of a million square kilometres) south of the R’o Colorado, is far from any madding crowds. The land is still in the hands of the old nature, weather and sky gods.

Bariloche is the most important tourist center in Patagonia. The city is within the Nahuel Huapi National Park and has one of the largest ski centers in Latin America.

Bariloche is a two-hour flight from Buenos Aires. There are four to ten flights daily (depending on the season). International flights to Argentina arrive at Ezeiza airport and a transfer is necessary to Jorge Newbery airport for the domestic flight.

 Accommodation:

Homestay
Staying with a family is the best way to be immersed in the local culture. You will have to practice your Spanish in everyday life situations and you will be more involved in the Argentine culture and customs. Home stays offer a room for yourself and in most cases a private bathroom. Breakfast and dinners are included. Houses are conveniently located; you will be at walking distance from the university or at most a 20 minutes ride by bus. Our host families are all different, some own a dog or a cat, some are elderly, some have teenagers, some are young couples with no kids, some live close to the lake, some live downtown and some live in the mountains. But they all have one thing in common; they enjoy hosting international students and sharing with them our culture, food, music, our passion for soccer or a good "mate" in the afternoon. They also enjoy hearing about your country and your hometown so remember to bring some pictures! You will receive a description and pictures of the families that meet the criteria you indicate to us in the enrollment form, along with pictures of their houses and locations so you can choose where you want to stay. Try to imagine what would be a perfect fit for your lifestyle. We will do our best to accommodate you.
