The University of Munich’s International Club (Internationaler Universitätsclub München - IUCM) is an intiative of former students of the LMU since 1995 in cooperation with the Office of International Affairs of the LMU. The goal is to inform young, foreign undergraduate and graduate students about life studying at the LMU and to help make study abroad a reality for these students. Upon arrival in Munich, we provide students with guidance and support throughout their time of study. A network of LMU alumni, who have studied or reside abroad , encourage that contact be maintained so that the opportunity for further exchanges will be available.

In response to a growing demand for subject-specific summer courses, LMU Munich added Summer Academies in various areas of study representing the full scope of academic excellence at LMU.
Renowned LMU professors - all leading reseachers in their fields of study, offer our Summer Academies advanced-level instruction and research in a variety of academic disciplines.
Summer Academies include:

- Summer School Occupational Health
- Amgen Scholars: From Molecules to Behavior
- NIM Program: Nano Science
- MUST Program: German and European Law
- MSC Encore: Exploring New Media in Venice / Munich
- Literature: Fiction and Reality
We also offer German & English language courses. Study German: Intensive Course (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced. The IUCM offer German courses for students during the "Semesterferien". Participants: undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate students and scientists max 11, min 9 participants.
Accommodation:
The LMU is able to offer accommodation for the participants in student residential halls of the Studentenwerk München. The anticipated cost for a single-bed student apartment will amount to € 360,00. Please also be aware that the rooms are only of a very modest standard. Which room you will be staying in we are only able to inform you of exactly once you have arrived in Munich.
The student housing facilities are all located close to bus or subway stations with a good connection to the university, which is located near Munich’s downtown area.
Each student is accommodated in their own private room. Some of these are in shared apartments and some are self-contained single apartments. Accommodation is allocated according to availability. It is not possible to select a preference. (except the students who send us special requirements together with their application)
Almost every room is equipped with a small kitchen where one can prepare meals. If it is not located in the room, there will be a community kitchen on each floor.
