Ponce School of Medicine was established over 30 years ago and has a strong record in research and education. Accreditation on through the academic year 2008-09 has served as the impetus for our school to tackle our biggest challenge: to diversify our sources of income by expanding our services. New ventures in health care services will commence this year that promise to permit the school to emerge as one of the leading providers of medical and mental health services in Puerto Rico. The school has also expanded its investigative horizons with additional external funding. Our students are increasingly receiving recognition through appointments to the best training programs, postdoctoral positions and jobs.
