Cankaya University was established in 1997 by the Sitki ALP Education and Culture Foundation which promotes education on a non-profit basis. The medium of education at Cankaya University is predominantly English. Students, whose foreign language skills are not adequate to undertake an academic program, attend a one-year English Language Preparation School .
