 Originating as the Department of Computer Science at DePaul University, the College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM)
is located in Chicago, Illinois. As one of the
largest IT programs in the nation, CDM
offers a huge selection of courses and degree
programs, from traditional computer science to
graphics, animation, gaming, and digital cinema.
Despite our size and breadth of offerings, here
you will be recognized and treated as an
individual. Our average class size is just
twenty-three, and CDM faculty are students’
advisors, so you will get to know the faculty
and they will get to know you. All of your
classes will be taught by full-time professors
or adjunct faculty who are working
professionals, not graduate students.
FACTS:
-CDM is often the first in the nation to launch
degree programs in an evolving area of study.
The school's latest innovations are its digital
cinema, games development and security programs.
-CDM was named a National Center of Academic
Excellence in Information Assurance (computer
network security and information assurance
education) by the National Security Agency (NSA)
and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
in 2005.
-CDM's American Sign Language Project received a
"Most Innovative Solution" award from the
editors of Speech Technology Magazine. DePaul
was the only university among the list of 30
award winners; most of the others were major
technology companies.
-Crain's Chicago Business recognized CDM as a
national leader in e-commerce education.
-CDM’s team ranked second in the nation – behind
MIT and tied with Princeton – in the
international ACM programming contest.
-CDM Alumni form the largest network of
