Tennessee Tech is a public, co-educational and comprehensive university located in Cookeville, a town of about 25,000 residents. Although located in some of Tennessee's most beautiful countryside, the campus is only a little more than an hour from 3 of Tennessee state's metro areas - 82 miles east of Nashville, 109 miles west of Knoxville and 96 miles north of Chattanooga. It is known as Tennessee’s technological university, but houses 6 strong academic divisions -- the College of Agricultural and Human Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Education, College of Engineering, and the School of Interdisciplinary Studies and Extended Education. With an enrollment of over 10,700 students and more than 50% of classes with 20 students or less, strong faculty/student relationships are a hallmark of a TTU educational experience. TTU is a member of the State University and Community College System of Tennessee and is governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents.

Accommodation:
Rooms are available for students in our residential halls. Many advantages and benefits can be associated with residence hall life: educational benefits, special in-hall programming (i.e. study skills, time and stress management, and resume writing), enhanced social activities, live-in para-professional student staff, convenience to campus facilities, and academic programs. Other advantages include meeting new people, exploring opportunities, and being more involved with campus life.
Tennessee Tech has 14 residence halls: 2 halls for men and 1 hall for women, and 11 co-ed halls, accommodating approximately 2,650 students. Rooms are designed for double occupancy; however, a few single and triple rooms are available. Rooms are furnished to include standard twin beds or loft beds and mattresses, desks, chairs, dressers, telephone, smoke detector, window shades, closets, and a wastebasket. Students may provide their own personal items to make their room more unique and comfortable. Your residence hall room will soon feel more like home after you have added your own personal touches.
Additionally, all rooms receive expanded basic cable service. All 14 residence halls are wired for ResNet (Internet) service. ResNet is short for Residence Hall Computer Network. Each of these hall rooms has a ResNet connection for each occupant, providing they have a personal computer.
Students can also stay in Tech Village apartments. Our desire is to see that the village apartments system provides you with a comfortable and home-like environment at the lowest possible cost. To the returning resident, our commitment is to continue to provide a quality service. Living on campus places you in the center of the university community allowing you to make the most of opportunities for involvement in both academic and extra-curricular activities.
