Fantastic Location. Best Facilities. Fun Parties! Our San Francisco Hostel is located in the North Beach area(Little Italy), famous for entertainment, book stores, and beat generation history. You come to San Francisco to explore and the Hostel is only a few moments walk to Chinatown, a short walk along the San Francisco Bay to Fisherman’s Wharf as well as located one block from public transportation to take you all over the Bay Area. From your room to any part of the City, it’s easy to navigate and our friendly staff will take the time to give you a free map and directions anywhere you wish to spend your day as well as give you suggestions on what’s cool to do in San Francisco that day! !
We know what you need because we listen to our guests and constantly offer different services to make your stay as great as possible. You asked for it and we deliver High Speed Internet, Wireless Internet, Free Breakfast, Free Sauna, Free linens, Free Dinners three times a week, Movie Nights to relax, Open Mic Entertainment, Impromptu Musical Acts and the most laid back place for you to be yourself. To make it like your home, there’s no Curfew, Huge Kitchen, Giant Common Room with Pool and Foosball, Piano, Stereo, Cable TV, Bicycle rack and Quiet Places to fill in the journals of your travels. The rooms are all non-smoking with large lockers under the bed to store your gear safely, comfortable bed with reading lights, self locking doors and new friends to meet. Our Private rooms give you a real home away from home feel with comfy beds and a few with TV and a large selection of movies for free so you can chill out and have quiet time with your travel mate.
We also offer 3 dinners a week and frequent parties in our unrestored, turn of the century ball room. All free when you make Green Tortoise Guest House your home, and yes, the showers are hot and we’ll give you a clean towel for your time here!!

IMPORTANT: We currently accept VISA, MasterCard, US cash or US$ Travelers Cheques for payment at the hostel. Sorry, no personal checks can be accepted.
Please note that there is a $20 key deposit for each person which is returned upon checkout. The key deposit must be paid in cash or travelers checks. Sorry, but the key deposit cannot be put on your credit card.

Samtrans Kx Or 292 Runs From Airport To Transbay:
* Kx Express Is 20 Min (No Luggage!) - $3.50
* 292 Is 50 Mins - $1.25
From Transbay They Walk To 3rd & Mission And Catch The #15 Muni Bus ($1) To
Broadway & Columbus (Condor Bar).
The Last #292 From Transbay To SFO Is Midnight.
Catch The #397 To Palo Alto Via SFO. It Leaves At 1:15am (2:15am, Etc) &
Arrives At The Airport At 2:03am (3:03am, Etc).
Oakland Airport:
From the Oakland Airport, get the Air Bart shuttle and it takes you to the
station. From here get any San Francisco bound train and exit at Montgomery
Street stop. Walk one block away from the clock tower to Kearny and turn
right. You can walk it in 8 minutes or get the Muni Bus #9 or #15 and get
off at Broadway (Without Crossing The Street You Can Only Go In One
Direction) To Kearny.
Greyhound:
The Transbay Terminal Is On Mission @ First Street.
Public Transport: Walk To Third Street And Catch The #15 Muni Bus (Which Has
"Fisherman's Wharf" On The Front) For $1.25 Exact Change.
Get Off At The Corner Of Broadway And Columbus At The Condor Bar.
Walk One Block Along Broadway (Without Crossing The Street You Can Only Go
In One Direction) To Kearny.
Walking: Just Walk To Third Street, Turn Right And Walk All The Way Up To
Broadway About Ten Short Blocks (After You Cross Market, Third Street
Becomes Kearny Street).
In order to Reserve a room or bed, you must have
